Damen Yachting Opens Vlissingen Yard for Open Day

On Saturday 10 October, Damen Yachting will open its Vlissingen yard on Koningsweg to the public from 10:00 to 16:00. During the Open Day, families, local residents, schoolchildren and other interested visitors will have the opportunity to discover first-hand what happens behind the yard gates. Through the event, Damen Yachting aims to foster local pride, inspire future generations and show how people, craftsmanship and technology shape the world-class yachts built in Vlissingen. 

“As a family business, it is particularly special for us to open our yard to other families. Our yard is a familiar sight to many people in Vlissingen, but what happens behind the gates often remains unseen. During the Open Day, we want to show just how much knowledge, dedication and collaboration go into building these yachts here. It is also a wonderful opportunity for our colleagues to bring their family and friends into their working environment and show them what they achieve together here in Vlissingen,” said Rose Damen, Managing Director of Damen Yachting. 

Visitors will follow a dedicated route through the yard, gaining insight into the many disciplines involved in building a superyacht. Along the way, they will discover how specialist expertise, innovation, collaboration and a focus on sustainability all play a role throughout the build process. The Open Day offers a broader look at the world behind the yachts and at the people of Damen Yachting and its co-makers – specialist partner companies that work closely with Damen Yachting. Together, they make the construction of these yachts possible.
