Blue in Context - Latest Amels 80 Begins Sea Trials

Damen Yachting announces that the latest Amels 80 has begun her sea trials programme in the North Sea, marking a key phase in the final stages of construction ahead of delivery to her Owner this Summer. 

Performance in Practice 
Finished in a dolphin blue metallic hull with a platinum bootstripe and white superstructure, the yacht is now put to the test in the environment she is designed for. Having departed Vlissingen, she is in open water where sea trials are underway, with performance tested under controlled conditions and measured against design parameters. 

“Sea trials are where the project comes together as a complete yacht,” comments Stefan Regtvoort, Project Manager. “It is the first time we see how everything performs in real conditions at sea, not as separate elements but as one system. For the team, this phase is about verification, but also about fine-tuning performance in practice.”
