Explorer Yachts Summit
Damen Yachting is proud to return as title sponsor of the Explorer Yachts Summit 2026, taking place on 12 November at the Yacht Club de Monaco.
Hosted by BOAT International, the Explorer Yachts Summit is the only international event dedicated exclusively to the growing explorer yacht sector. It brings together Owners, Captains and industry leaders to discuss the trends, challenges and innovations shaping this dynamic market, while examining the unique opportunities associated with expedition yachting.
Having supported the summit as it has developed and matured over the years, Damen Yachting recognises its importance as a forum for collaboration, knowledge-sharing and innovation. Its continued involvement also reflects the company’s commitment to taking a leading role in the explorer yacht market.
This year, Daan Langezaal, Head of Design and Development at Damen Yachting, will join the panel discussion “Explorer overkill: What features do you really need on your expedition yacht?”. Together with fellow industry experts, he will explore which features deliver real value when designing and operating an expedition yacht, and where a more considered approach can make all the difference.
The Summit will also feature an exclusive preview of LA DATCHA – Legacy of Discovery, a documentary by filmmaker Stein Retzlaff capturing an extraordinary expedition to Svalbard aboard the Xplorer 77 LA DATCHA. The film brings to life the freedom to explore extraordinary destinations and the capabilities that make these experiences possible.
“We're proud to be returning as title sponsor of an event we've watched develop and mature over the years and our continued support reflects just how important we consider this summit and our own role in leading this market sector. It's the only event solely dedicated to explorer yachting, and for us that encompasses everything we believe building yachts is really about - creating the opportunity for our clients to get out on the water and enjoy it on their own terms.”
Sarah Flavell, Marketing Manager at Damen Yachting.

Shaping the Future of Exploration
For Damen Yachting, the Explorer Yachts Summit is a platform for discussion about the future of exploration. It offers the opportunity to share our expertise and contribute to the development of the explorer yacht sector.
The 2026 programme looks at the choices shaping exploration today: which features deliver real value, what comes next after Starlink, and what responsibilities come with access to sensitive destinations. It also considers how ROV technology and scientific capability can support life and work on board, alongside the latest market developments and new cruising opportunities in Japan.
Exploration is not only about reaching the furthest point, but about engaging with the unknown. As horizons continue to shift, Damen Yachting remains part of the conversations shaping where exploration leads next.
Unique platform
“The explorer yacht sector continues to be one of the fastest-growing segments of the superyacht industry, with demand increasing year on year,” agreed BOAT International’s global editor-in-chief Stewart Campbell. “Now firmly established as the only summit dedicated exclusively to this exciting and dynamic sector, the Explorer Yachts Summit offers a unique platform to explore its full potential. We’re thrilled to once again welcome Damen Yachting - one of our most valued and forward-thinking partners - as title sponsor for this year’s event.”
