Three years after her delivery, the flagship 83-metre Amels superyacht HERE COMES THE SUN has returned to the Damen Yachting yard in the Netherlands. Under new ownership, the yacht will undergo a refit project.

When she departed the yard in January 2017, HERE COMES THE SUN was the largest Amels superyacht delivered to date. She has an exterior design by Tim Heywood and interior design by Winch Design. Since then she has cruised more than 50,000 miles over the globe.

“We’re exceptionally proud to see HERE COMES THE SUN back at the yard,” says Damen Yachting Director Operations Roeland Berrevoets, who was the build’s Project Manager. “She is our flagship Amels yacht and really our first step back into full custom building. Just a great project to work on. We’re all very enthusiastic about working on her again and looking forward to relaunching her with the top Amels quality that she deserves.”

The Amels Refit project demonstrates the value of returning to the original builder. Together with the experienced Amels Refit team, the yacht is in safe hands, says Sales Manager Michel Coens.

“Of course our engineering and production teams know the yacht inside out,” he comments, “which is a big advantage. But for us the most important element in a project like this a genuine partnership and strong teamwork with the Owner’s team, the crew and our subcontractors. So we’re honoured that the Owner’s team has put their trust in us and we are fully committed to delivering what we promise.”
