VENTUM MARIS redelivered following Amels refit
To see 65.5-metre Amels-built VENTUM MARIS return for Amels Refit was a moment of great honour and privilege. It was an opportunity to welcome one of the family back to the nest for some loving and care-filled restoration after 8 adventurous years out on the oceans. A chance to nurture and revitalise her beautiful features and finishes and inject a new lease of life into her striking exterior.
Refit Scope
In 2018, under new ownership, VENTUM MARIS returned to her original builder for a revitalisation to perfectly capture her new owner’s wishes. The extensive refit took place in our second Vlissingen facility, Vlissingen East, including full paintwork, exteriors and substantial mechanical works. In 2019 VENTUM MARIS was re-delivered.
Introducing VENTUM MARIS
The legacy of VENTUM MARIS dates back to her maiden voyage in 2011 following her build and delivery by Amels under the name IMAGINE. Based on the AMELS 212/220 design from the AMELS Limited Editions range, her beautiful exterior design with her custom colour scheme, radiates the unmistakable pedigree of award-winning British designer Tim Heywood. Her modern full custom interiors is the creation of the formidable London-based studio Winch Design and was forged in collaboration with her original owners.
REFIT PROCESS
A NEW LEASE OF LIFE
Vlissingen East facility
The refit of VENTUM MARIS began in 2018, coincidentally in the very same facility where the first cut of steel and the keel laying took place more than a decade earlier in 2007. The Vlissingen East facility includes project team offices with full facilities and secured storage for owner deliveries.
Exterior
VENTUM MARIS’s exterior was given a new lease of life by the skilled and practised hands of the AMELS team, lovingly restoring and revitalising her beautiful features and finishes.
New paintwork
Heading out into the Spring sunshine, VENTUM MARIS reveals her revitalised exterior and striking new paintwork, once again capturing those alluring warm colours evoking memories of glittering waters over island sands.
