Reaching the Dream

Summer of SeaXplorer

This summer our SeaXplorer range of luxury expedition yachts definitely reached the dream.

We’ve seen the first two deliveries ANAWA and LA DATCHA revolutionising yachting, a host of awards and milestones, plus two exciting new builds underway including the brand new SeaXplorer 60. Looking back to when we launched the range in 2015, our expectations have been far exceeded! The future of explorer yachting is here now.

SUMMER SEAXPLORER AWARDS

Last week at the World Superyacht Awards we were delighted to accept the coveted Neptune trophy on behalf of SeaXplorer LA DATCHA’s Owner and his team. Host Natasha Kaplinsky summed up the decision behind the Judges’ Special Award:

“This yacht grabbed the judges’ attention as the stylish go anywhere yacht with a luxurious finish for both Owner and guest. In addition to her ability to carry a wide range of expedition equipment, she also carries an impressive itinerary of tropical-orientated equipment. This has been done in such a successful manner that the judges were unanimous in recommending that this outstanding yacht should be given The Judges’ Special Award.”

EXTERIOR DESIGN AWARD

Earlier this summer, LA DATCHA also won the Judges’ Commendation Award for Exterior design in the 2021 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards. LA DATCHA’s outstanding exterior design is the work of the naval architecture and design studio Azure Yacht Design. The award itself recognises naval architecture and styling as well as design and technology in relation to innovation, engineering and sustainability aimed at meeting the changing demands of today’s owners. In referencing LA DATCHA’s exterior design, the judges were ‘impressed with the impact of the styling from Azure Yacht Design’, citing her ‘strong, inventive lines as creating an instantly identifiable, purpose-driven look for this booming genre of explorer yachts’.

We would like to thank all of our team, the exterior design team at Azure Yacht Design, our operational design partner EYOS Expeditions, our co-makers and in particular the Owner and his team without whom, such success and achievement would not be possible. Read more about our win at the World Superyacht Awards.

SUMMER TRAVEL MILESTONES

The first SeaXplorer, 62-metre ANAWA, delivered in 2020, has had a fantastic summer season enjoying the Greek islands in private use for her Owners.

The next in the range, 77-metre LA DATCHA, has quickly rewritten the luxury charter book with a hugely successful season the Maldives and afterwards in Kamchatka, where her two helicopters really came into play for heliskiing and safaris. We understand that she will be heading for the summer season in Antarctica, so be quick to try the SeaXplorer experience for yourself!

Summer 2024 with the new SeaXplorer 60

While construction of the third SeaXplorer, the as yet unnamed Project SeaXplorer 58, continues ahead of her 2022 delivery to her Owner, we’re proud to announce the start of construction for our fourth SeaXplorer, the brand new SeaXplorer 60 design. For clients wanting to step straight into the future of explorer yachting, the first yacht of this 60-metre hybrid propulsion luxury explorer design is available for delivery in 2024. By starting the SeaXplorer build up front, Damen Yachting is following its successful Amels Limited Editions approach by offering reliable, customisable luxury explorers with the shortest delivery times on the market.
