Studio Indigo

For your inspiration we invited the team at Studio Indigo to create a design concept for the Amels 60 interiors.

The Amels 60 offers a total luxury interior space of 324 square metres (3,488 sq ft) with a well-balanced volume (Gross Tonnage of 830). One of the great benefits of the Amels Limited Editions approach is the freedom to choose your own interior designer and create your own individual vision of yachting at the highest level.

“Consistency of materials, architectural detailing and form means spaces flow easily into the next, thereby creating the illusion of endless space.”

Sophisticated fresh approach

Founded in 2005 by Creative Director Mike Fisher, the London-based studio specialises in architecture, interior design and yachts. They bring over 15 years of design experience within luxury super-prime land-based projects, both in the UK and internationally. Comprising a skilled team of 50 designers and architects, Studio Indigo brings a fresh new approach to the yachting industry and has recently captured the market’s attention with their award-winning innovation – including two World Superyacht Awards.

We refined the GA to make the space as ergonomically efficient as possible, generating a layout that seeks to maximise the perception of space and flow. This was achieved by opening up the views and vistas between spaces to make them feel bigger, lighter and brighter.

Endless space

The first impression on board is a bright reception area surrounded by big sea views. Studio Indigo took some of Espen Øino’s striking external design elements into the fresh, new interior concept. The objective was to bring the outside in to ensure a unified look throughout the yacht. For example, diagonal styling elements in the shape of the ceiling domes help to accentuate the beam of the interior spaces.

“Her exterior and interior spaces will complement one another
beautifully, with references to her geometric exterior being drawn inside.”

The interiors are chic and contemporary, using a rich variety of fabrics and textures throughout, allowing the guests onboard to experience different atmospheres that surprise and delight as you walk through the Amels 60. The Main Saloon illustrates the sense of space and lightness with a sophisticated classic look in Studio Indigo’s concept. Forward on Main Deck, the full-beam Owners Suite is a private space to retreat to, while still enjoying magnificent views and ocean breezes from the folding balcony. The Bridge Deck Lounge, bar and aft deck is the hub for dining and entertaining on board. The lounge opens with sliding glass doors, flush to the deck, to the outdoor dining area.
